Great book, written by a true professional. The author has been in the recruiting and staffing business for a long time and this book highlights his expertise when it come to interviewing.

Written from the perspective of the recruiter, this offers solid and valuable insight with specific steps to prepare. Since reading this book, I'm moving further along the interview process and faster than before. I'm confident implementing these tips and prepping based on the exercises will lead to a job very soon

I enjoyed implementing the lessons in a recent job interview but some of the advice may not be appropriate for all industries. In his closing section he says that you should ask for the job right then and there which may not be the best thing to do when applying for a state or local government job. His advice seems to be geared more towards interviewing in the executive world for a fortune 500 company but there are still lessons to be learned.

How good is the advice? Well, the truth is that recruiters can vary, just as candidates, so you should be wary of anything being viewed as a definitive resource. In any case, it is far from a dumbed-down book whose content you could quickly find on the Internet, and it is worthy of a read just in case you learn something new and useful.The author believes that their advice will help transform your job searching and hopefully interview process, and an eight-point interview success plan is offered up. It can be imagined, if one is overly critical, that cultural norms can differ between industries and particularly between countries, so you may need to be prepared to modify some of the advice. Just don’t take it as Gospel that remain cast in stone. Some of the advice seemed a little too extreme in many circumstances, but what may work in one country might not work in another.
